foliage- get green by mixing blue and yellow ochre, but then add just a pinch of red to knock saturation level down and make it look more real
don't use too much paint
don't loose your dark- you need the dark to sell the light
to highlight, think about your light source and add touch of cadmium yellow to foliage colour
next step is trunk yellow ochre and red some white pinch of blue to get grey tone for mid tone-test first keep the shadow, don't loose the dark-you can come back to the dark, blue and red and bit of white in parts over the medium to tone it down again
highlight tone (by adding a bit of white to colour) in spots where light would be catching-don't make it look pasty
base of tree a bit of orange tone
to dress it up little flat brush, use cad yellow and touch of white for grasses at base
